Essential Questions and Answers for Population and Resources
(Social Studies)
1. The population trends around the world are that population growth is usually caused by Asia because they are some major countries that have more population density than some or most of the states of the U.S.A and the population keep on growing by 70 in those countries. I am mentioning countries like China, India and Bangladesh as the major ones. The factors are that in most countries that population is growing everyday a lot, there’s less attention given to mothers in those countries( especially like India, Bangladesh, Pakistan to name a few), because babies might not get special care, they may get an illness and be less healthy as other babies being born in U.S.A and other countries.
2. Well, we as humans aren’t basically doing anything to stabilize global population growth. Whatever is done is done by the nature. Even if humans do something, it includes killing babies if they are girls (the rule that many people in some countries abide by) or pregnant women going to the hospital and getting their abortion done. But I wouldn’t suggest these ways because everybody that comes in this world should get a right to live their part of life.
3. Resources are being distributed and utilized by counties that have more amount of a particular resource by selling it to different countries. For example, oil is being distributed by Saudi Arabia and the U.S.A having the most oil selling it to other countries for a price. We utilize resources by using it to its best use and some resources are necessary and really important for everyday life. Two examples of this are water and air.
4. The effects of humanity’s consumption of the world’s resources are that we are using our resources more than needed and the amount of resources that we have are decreasing by a huge amount every single day( probably about 0.7 to 0.8%). The second effect is that because so many people are using so many resources, we are going to litter more and that will cause global warming. So we have to reduce how much we rely on each resource so that it lasts longer.
5. Some possible solutions would be to reduce how much we rely on each resource so that it lasts longer as I said in Question 4, try to take as many people as possible in one trip so that more people can go to a certain place without using so much fossil fuel. For that I am indicating transportation. We can also share resources so that everybody gets to use it and so every resource gets to get distributed along the 6 and a half billion people. Maybe that’s a hard thing to do but still we should try our best so that there would be less poor people in the next 5 years so there can be fewer robberies.

In the novel, The Revealers, the students of Parkland Middle felt connected through SchoolStream or as the students called it KidNet where they were able to chat or instant message. Most of you do this nightly through MSN Messenger. With KidNet and MSN nobody could break into or eavesdrop on your conversation without it being known. Not anymore. Today’s technology allows you to assume the identity of another person. Do you really know whom you are talking to in the cyber world?
It is 10:00 pm on a Wednesday night; you have finished your homework and you are chatting on MSN with three other friends. After 10 minutes two more friends ask to join the chat. By 10:30 pm five more people have joined and it is fun; however, there is a joke said about one of the people, rapidly followed by an insult. At first, no one knows how to respond, then seconds later a message pops up stating, “I didn’t say that! It isn’t me saying these things. Someone is using my name. What is going on here?”
What is the issue involved in this scenario? Why is this serious?
The issue involved in this scenario is that some of the five people that joined MSN at 10:30 with the permission of the other four friends and then have been involved in the coversation, so basically your name is being hacked. Then one or more people from the 5 people that joined at 10:30 sent a joke about one of the people with an insult and they are saying that I didn't say anything so the friends get an indication that you have sent that insulting message. This is serious because this could create a fight between the five friends and the one friend whose name is being used is going to be blamed in the first place.
What would be a responsible way to handle this situation?
A responsible way to handle this situation would be that the guy whose name is being used sends a message to all the other four friends that some imposter has hacked his/her account and tell the other four friends to quit and that they can chat later.
How could a situation like this be resolved? How would one of the three main characters from The Revealers deal with this situation?
A situation like this can be resolved by the guy whose name is being used changes his
username to some other name and then sents an e-mail to his other friends saying that he has changed his username so the imposter can no longer use his/her name. The three main characters in the Revealers deal with this situation by doing the same thing that I wrote to resove this kind of situation.

Blog Response Question and answer
The Revealers
Blog Writing Topic
Blog response Instructions: Answer the questions in complete sentences, proper English and use examples from the novel whenever possible. Put page number after your examples. When writing comments to your peers, be respectful in your language and about their response. It is okay to disagree, but do it in a polite manner.
Blog Question: Is bullying a rite of passage of childhood and adolescence? Is it apart of the maturation process one needs to go through to reach adulthood? Explain. Mrs. Hogeboom brings up this topic on page 108.
Yes, bullying is the rite of passage of childhood and adolescene because in childhood, bullying shows you the passage of knowing who is an appropriate person to make friends, talk to, take and give help and so on. Yes, I think it is a part of the maturation process one needs to go through to reach adulthood because after some time, during the age of 12 and above, you get the knowledge to think who is an appropriate person to be friends with and to try your best to stay away from them. But since there's also a good person somewhere inside the bully, I think one needs to also have the knowledge of treating bullies as their friends and somehow get to know why that person or those people who bully and since bullying is happening queit a lot in this world, everyone should be aware of it and should have the knowledge to face it when it comes and I challenge you, it is going to come sometime in your journey through childhood to adolescene.
